It is with heavy but overflowing hearts that Track Youth Theatre bids a grateful, loving farewell to our founder, the inimitable Ed Bailey OAM. Ed passed peacefully on 27/5/2025, surrounded by family and inundated with love.
His final direction to us all was not to be sad, but joyful at a life fully and wonderfully lived. Celebrate, do not mourn- and remember him by doing good in the world. Or telling a terrible joke.
Since 1980, Ed and Maureen have created a place where children just starting to work out who they are, discover they can be literally anything. They extended their family beyond biological kids, invited everyone around their piano, and changed lives across generations. It is our honour at Track to continue their incredible legacy, and our life's work to measure up.
We thank you, Ed, for everything you have given the world, and hope you're having a lovely time harmonising once more with your beloved Maureen.
Norman Lewis "Ed" Bailey, OAM: 5/11/1938 - 27/5/2025
Track Youth Theatre has been teaching the art of stagecraft to young people for over forty years. The group aims to help children, not just with the development of theatrical skills, but with more valuable life skills such as self-esteem, respect for others, and self-confidence in front of groups. Children are not auditioned. Anyone is eligible to join regardless of ability. Most performers in Track Youth Theatre come from the City of Boroondara.
